blog-gbd-get-soaked-1

Fall has begun! We are looking forward to all things cozy, and what better place to start than in the bath? With lavender buds, chamomile flowers and oatmeal, this recipe is a stress reliever for minds and bodies alike.

WHAT IT IS

Lavender is known to aid with dry skin, improves the healing of acne, minor cuts and burns, and is an excellent mood booster and sleep improver.

Chamomile is anti-inflammatory, perfect for sensitive skin, and helps relieve dandruff.

Oatmeal, a famous moisturizer, is perfect for sunburns and itchy skin, and works as a natural cleanser to remove dirt and oil from pores.

INGREDIENTS

1/4 Cup Dried Lavender Buds - 1/4 Cup Dried Chamomile Flowers - 1/4 Cup Oats - 2-3 Small Cotton Drawstring bags

INSTRUCTIONS

Pulse the oats in a food processor until ground. Add oats to a small bowl and mix in lavender and chamomile. Scoop out 1/4 cup of the mixture per cotton bag. Add one bath tea to your tub, allowing it to steep for the duration of the bath. Any extra can be stored for next time in an airtight container.

TIPS

Check your local tea shop or health food store for lavender and chamomile. If lavender is scarce, feel free to omit, or add 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil to your tub. Can't find cotton bags? Use disposable tea bags, or even an infuser ball will do the trick.
